I agree with Tina, we are always leaving little things on my mother in laws grave (flowers, stuffies, balloons, figures, etc.) and they are always gone within the same day! It's terrible! This is our loved ones final resting place... let the families leave a little something to make them feel better! No one has the right to take things off a grave (which my mother in law has 2 vases on the sides of her head stone and it still doesn't matter... they take the flowers... I've even tied a stuffie to the vases so it wasn't on the ground in the way to be mowed, but nope... gone too! I wish the people who work there would have some respect for the families that visit and the loved ones who are there.

not being alone in this...we have left a plaque, vases, etc..at my sisters grave and they were gone the following day, very upsetting to us.

  • The girls at St. Patrick's Cemetery are wonderful. Kathy and Lisa are always very kind, friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to help you find your relatives. They are great!

I left a plaque at my child's fathers grave site and two days later it was gone, but everything else that was at the grave still remains. The only thing i can think of is that someone has had the nerve to steal something from his grave. This plaque meant alot to my son who is only nine and is very saddened by his dads loss so i called the cemetary and had to leave a message. I was suprised when i never received a call back as this has been a traumatic event to me and my son all they said in response is that "someone probably stole it and they have no control over that". No aplology no sympathy...nothing! I can say i am truly disgusted I asked if they have video surveillance at the gate which i think all cemetaries should and of course the answer was a no. Also why close the gates at 4? This makes it very hard for people who actually work to visit there loved ones.I hope this never happens again if it does the police and mayor flannagan will be getting a phone call.
